Youth Summer Programs

North Shore Freeride Camp

$239 full day / $199 half day¹

Come join us this summer for a week of fun and riding. Under the guidance of SBC’s professional instructors explore new trails, bike parks and make new friends all while improving your riding skills.

In addition to skill improvment, riders will be taught about preventative maintenance of their bikes and how to fix minor mechanical breakdowns on the trail.

Camps run weekly starting June 23 through to August 29. Camps are five days in length and vary from 3 to 6 hours per day.

Camp Schedule

Level 1 - Shore Newbies

For riders who are comfortable on their bikes and want to do more than huck the curb in front of the house. This camp will introduce young riders to off road and trail riding on the North Shore. Groups will explore a number of bike parks and beginner trails with their instructor.

By the end of the camp riders will be much more confident off road in varied terrain. Skills developed include turning, balance, navigating obstacles, braking techniques, trail etiquette and rules of the road.

Level 2 - Rippin' Riders

Meet new friends and explore new North Shore trails and bike parks!

This camp is for riders who have already been riding off road but are looking for an additional challenge and want to explore some of the more intermediate North Shore trails.

This camp will prepare young riders for the more advanced North Shore trials. Skills covered include off road steering and balance, stance, proper braking techniques for different situations and much more.

Level 3 - Flowin' Riders

Level 3 camps are for riders who are already confident on intermediate trails.

Skills covered are similar to Level 2, only at a higher level. These skills include steering, balance, developing an awareness of bike / body positioning and line choice.

Level 4 - Shore Freeriders

Ready for the big time! Level 4 is for those riders who want to hone their skills and learn a few new tricks while riding some of the most technical trails on the North Shore.

Everything is covered at this level and more. Advanced skills will be developed both on the trails and in the jump park under the guidance of professional coaches.

This is an advanced camp and only riders who meet the required ability level will be admitted. Please contact SBC if you have any questions.

Youth Spring Programs

Sunday Rides

$75 (one month) / $145 (2 months)

May 4, 11, 18 | 9:00 - 12:00

June 1, 8, 15 | 9:00 - 12:00

This Spring SBC will be offering youth Sunday rides. Kids will explore North Shore trails and bike parks with professional instructors while improving riding skills and meeting new ridding buddies. Groups will be split based on ability to ensure that all riders are being challenged at an appropriate level.

Parents (if your kids allow you) are also welcome to join the groups. Everyone will receive the same level of feed back and tips from the instructor.

These rides are geared towards intermediate riders ages 9 and above.

The after-school program is a great way for kids to improve their riding skills and meet new friends. Groups meet once a week and will explore various trails and parks on the North Shore.

Two days available, Tuesdays for intermediate / advanced riders and Thursdays for beginner riders. Come dressed for the weather.

Bowen Island Camps

$168 (6 sessions)

May 8 - June 7 (Saturdays) | 9:30 - 12:00 - Intro to Mountain Biking

May 8 - June 7 (Saturdays) | 12:30 - 15:00 - Intermediate Bike Skills

Intro to Mountain Biking

This camp will build on basic bike and mountain bike skills: turning, balance, navigating obstacles and the rules of the road. Rides include time on the trails and beginner man made structures.

Intermediate Bike Skills

Intermediate skills will be developed under the guidance of professional and experienced instructors. Skills covered include body / bike position awareness, riding ramps and skinnies, controlling your bike at speed and the rules of the road. Lessons will take place on the trails and in the mountain bike park.
